• Initially joined as a Scala consultant on Mediahub, a media asset management platform ingesting 300+ hours of content per day
  • Then promoted to lead the documentation feature-team where I designed and implemented core services for video annotation and search, using Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL and the Typelevel stack
  • Migrated millions of legacy XML documents through a high-throughput Kafka/fs2 pipeline, enabling legacy systems to be shut down
  • As lead I also mentored the team in functional programming: Cats Effect, hexagonal architecture and property-based testing (ScalaCheck)

Canal+ is one of France’s leading audiovisual groups, producing and distributing pay-TV, movies and sports. Mediahub is the group’s media asset management (MAM) platform and the cornerstone of its media supply chain, ingesting 300+ hours of new content every day: transcoding assets, generating proxies, and moving them between hot and cold storage.

The platform is built on Scala, Apache Kafka, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL and the Typelevel ecosystem (Cats, Cats Effect, fs2, Tapir, Akka), with an emphasis on functional programming, hexagonal architecture and property-based testing.
